Kala and I have been together for almost 3 years now, and over this time together I have slowly brought out most of my killer dishes, tonight’s dinner, spicy black bean soup, has been a pot luck favorite for quite some time, I even traded it for a deal on my old Bianchi mountain bike when I first moved up here. I should have made it for her much sooner! Although the recipe is in reserve for the cookbook, the basics of it are a bunch of dried beans, onion, garlic, green pepper and a secret blend of spices (the go to spice is unsweetened cacao powder). It’s a hearty soup and we had it with a little tofutti sour cream and green onions. It was very filling! It also has great second day uses as a dip, taco/burrito filling and the like.
